Hi there! I’m an award-winning bookkeeper and MYOB certified consultant by day, NCIS tragic by night.
I spent the first ten years of my working life helping to make other people rich.
Growing up in small town Hobart, Tasmania, I’d always been fascinated with numbers. My heroes were and are, anyone who risked it all to follow their small business dream.
As a bookkeeper, office manager, then accounting firm relationships manager, I indulged my passion for both. But having bosses to please drove me crazy and I craved the freedom to one day tread my own path.
I believe that the real fun in business is making money, not accounting for it.
In 2005 I rented a dusty ‘shoebox’ with a desk and dived headlong into self-employment, with a noble idea to relieve the compliance and red tape headaches facing small business owners.
Freedom Accounting Support was born. By 2009 I had been a finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award, we had grown to a team of twelve, and had served over 300 business and not-for-profit clients.
Truth is, that success didn’t come easy. I’d worked myself to exhaustion and sacrificed too many personal relationships on my way to the top.
I found a better way of living and working.
In 2010 I ‘emigrated’ to Adelaide, South Australia where I found a larger audience for my particular talents, fresh faces to hang out with and, surprise, love. (Yes, I’ve since married him!)
My sea change has also turned out to be a very good thing for my clients. Today, I choose to work with fewer clients simultaneously, so when you hire Freedom you get just me. When you want someone now, I’m available.
